'Tis the Time for Festivals

The fall is such a great time of the year for outdoor festivals! I have so enjoyed going to many festivals the past several months. During the month of October, I was able to go to the Danville's "Children's Festival" as well as Martinsville's "Octoberfest." Both festivals brought many families and children. It was so nice to meet new people and share with them about the Rainbow Series.

TIny the Tree Available Soon!

Want a Christmas Story that teaches children about the love of family during this holiday season? "Tiny the Tree" will be out soon! Be sure to grab one for your Classroom library, your children's Christmas present, a gift for a friend or family member, or as a teaching tool for your children before Christmas!

Check out the first page of the book! What do you think will happen to "Tiny the Tree?"

Tiny tried to stand as tall as he could when the tree farmer came to check his rows of trees. Standing in between his mom and dad, Tiny knew he was the runt of the family. As the farmer came near, Tiny heard him say, “This one has a nice color. This one has good strong branches. Look how tall this one is!”
When the farmer stopped in front of him, Tiny wondered what he would say.
The farmer scratched his chin, looking puzzled. “I don’t know what to make of this one,” he said,

feeling Tiny’s small branches. “I have fertilized this one. Pruned it. Babied it. But I still can’t get it to

grow any taller. I expect this one will be standing alone come Christmas Day,” the farmer said sadly.

Brewed Awakening Book Fest

My sweet friends at Binding Time have moved to Danville and opened up the cutest new place... "Brewed Awakening." Although I miss them being in Martinsville, they have been given wonderful new customers and business at this new location. They have been so kind to me and I wish them the best and look forward to staying in touch with them.

We had an amazing time at the Brewed Awakening Book Fest August 29th.  Stacy and I were joined with many other authors while the customers drank coffee, ate lunch, and visited with the various authors.  It was a successful day and we look forward to doing this again next year!

Smith River Fest

We had an absolute blast at the Smith River Fest! This an absolute must for all families in the area and surrounding areas of Martinsville and Henry County! From arts and craft vendors, to the mud race, to the duck race, to music, food, and games, there was something for everyone. It was a privilege to support my hometown. I will make sure I come back every year for this.

Adventures with Rainbow

Recently, I have had the opportunity to do a couple different things to share my Rainbow Series. First, I was able to do a book signing at the Danville Hallmark. The owner does an amazing job at reaching out to local authors. I am so excited to share that My books are  now available to be purchased at Hallmark  in the  Danville Mall. I'm so thankful for the owner, Karen, for allowing my books to be a part of her store,

This past month I was also able to speak at Roanoke Christian Writer's Club to share about how the Rainbow Series came to be. I was able to share how I never thought I would be an author, but God placed an idea in my head and has enabled me to do things I never would have dreamed through writing these stories. It was an honor to be the guest speaker for this special group of women. I'm thankful for special friends who bring unique connections to me in order for me to share my stories with others!

Donate a Book Campaign!

Hello everyone. Each time I do book signings at different schools, I meet children who really love The Rainbow Series, but come from a struggling economic background. It is my heart to reach high risk children, and I truly believe God has given me The Rainbow Series as a way to teach children through story many life lessons.

I meet people often that are interested in my book, but do not have any child in their life to give it to. Now, I am giving you the opportunity to impact a child's life. You will be able to purchase a book and instead of it being sent to you, you can ask me to donate it to a child in need. You can also have the option of writing a note to them and I will write it as well as your name in the front cover. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Rainbow Deals With Pride

You can now order your copy of the brand new book in the Rainbow Series, "Rainbow Deals with Pride."

"Rainbow is proud of his beautiful wings and ability to fly, but he's showing off just a little too much. He thinks its payback time for Lightning, the butterfly who used to taunt him. But is this kind of revenge really the right thing to do? Follow Rainbow as he learns a hard lesson on pride."

You can find the book on amazon.com, maskotbooks.com, and you can message me to get a book sent right to you! (rainbowspromise1@gmail.com)

You can also directly reach me on facebook!

Rainbow

Everytime I see a rainbow, I think about Rainbow's song.

All the Colors of the rainbow
Did you ever wonder why?
Each color is so special.
And here's the reason why.
Each color is a promise, streatched out across the sky.
Just keep your eyes toward the heavens
And look way, way up high.

A promise, a promise.
The rainbow is a promise.
The sun is gonna shine again.
The clouds will never win.

Oh, rainbow, you're so special.
Your colors too beautiful to say.
You always keep your promise.
The clouds have gone away.

The sun is shining down again.
You'll always save the day.
A rainbow is a promise to you
That joy will be here to stay.

A promise, a promise.
The rainbow is a promise.
The sun is gonna shine again.
The clouds will never win.

Danville's Festival in the Park

I had a great time at Danville's Festival in the Park. It was such a fun day for children and their families. I will definitely be back next year introducing more of the Rainbow Series.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! 2014 brought much excitement to my life both personally and professionally. My daughter and her husband welcomed their first child and my first grand baby! I also published my second book, Rainbow Learns to Fly.

As we enter a new year, my goal is to continue to have a positive impact on as many children as possible through the reading of my books. I am sincerely grateful to my family, friends, and book fans that have supported me through this endeavor.

What are your goals for 2015?
